Episode 100. How to Turn Adversity into an Asset with Lewis Raymond Taylor
Understanding our own role in the situations of our life is a profound learning process which provides critical insight into who we are, and how we can move forward.
All of us have the power to make change, to initiate transformation in our own lives and in the lives of people around us, and the moment we can let go of our own ego and act out of love, the results can be phenomenal.
Lewis Raymond Taylor knows that sometimes what holds us back from healing is our expectation of other people, of how they should behave towards us or the role they are supposed to play, even though that is not within our power to control. Instead, he recommends opening our hearts and taking the action we believe will bring the most benefit to everyone, regardless of who is wrong or right in a given situation.
If we can master this commitment to compassion, we are freed from the limitations of our past, and we can move forward in life turning adversity into an asset and transforming our pain into power. Being right is less important than doing what is right.
The truth is that we can never really know what the end result of our experiences will be, but if we dedicate ourselves to helping others, then at least we can be sure that something positive will come out of them.
These are some of the tips that Lewis Raymond Taylor leaves us in this episode of The Resilient Minds Podcast.
Lewis Raymond Taylor is an entrepreneur and world-traveller who found clarity the hard way. Overcoming substance misuse, trauma and mental illness, he transformed his life and made his way from prison to starting a 6-figure business and travelling the world. Lewis wants his incredible journey to inspire others, and aside from volunteering with various charities, has become a qualified, CPF accredited life coach, although of course he takes his own unique approach to helping others find success, however they choose to define it.
